Seaford College
WJF Completed 2 new boarding houses and staff accommodation at Seaford College on the South Downs in May this year. This whole exciting development was carefully planned to blend in with the naturally beautiful area surrounding the College.
As a first for the College and ourselves, the whole scheme was worked up from the initial furniture layouts at an early stage, through to the construction of the building. Room layouts were agreed with the client, architect and main contractor prior to building, with all electrical and mechanical positions agreed prior to assembly of this timber frame structure. Our furniture was specifically designed to maximize flexibility in terms of both the term time boarding regime and the summer lets.
Through clever design of bedroom configurations and more particularly, the use of our special desk / bed unit, we have managed to accommodate 88 permanent boarders and an additional 32 bed spaces for Summer lets without the School’s facilities staff having to move any furniture to and from the rooms! This flexibility of usage and the additional income that can be achieved from this is greatly appreciated by the client.
